Layer 1 · Entity Authority

Layer 1 · Entity Authority: The Precondition for AI to Trust You

Entity Authority is the foundation of the five layers. It answers one root question: does AI treat you as a real, verifiable thing connected to other facts?

What entity authority is

In AI's 'view of knowledge', the world is made of entities (brands, products, people, places, certifications, standards) and the relations between them. Entity authority measures whether your entity is clearly defined, consistently mentioned by independent sources, and correctly linked to related entities.

Why it matters most

If AI doesn't consider you a 'verified entity', it won't cite you no matter how many blog posts you write. Entity authority is the ticket to being cited.

FAQ

Can a small brand build entity authority?
Yes. Entity authority doesn't depend on traffic but on 'consistency + verifiability'. Even with just a site and three certifications, if the info is consistent and checkable across sources, AI gradually treats it as a real entity.
Is entity authority the same as SEO 'domain authority'?
No. Domain authority is the old link-vote metric; entity authority is about 'whether your identity is confirmed by the knowledge graph'. An old domain can be high-DA yet still a 'nameless entity'.
